SERENITY Retreat is ideally situated in the quaint and peaceful village of Stormsriver – in the Heart of the Tsitsikamma. Surrounded by an abundance of cool green indigenous forests and the shelter of the majestic Tsitsikamma Mountains.

Ancient trees cloak the mountain slopes and stand guard over the coastal plateau. Cape fynbos, impenetrable gorges, black water rivers, 220 bird species and shy nocturnal animals are some of the varied aspects of the Tsitsikamma and Beyond.

The ancient Khoisan people called Tsitsikamma “place of abundant water”. The Tsitsikamma can change her mood in an instant – her mercurial temperament dims the sun and sends lashing winds along the coast in a matter of minutes as the forest trees lean and bend in the fierce weather, blankets of mist roll over the mountains and settle in the forests.

Just as quickly, calm is restored and all who live in Tsitikamma are reminded of the forceful, enigmatic power of nature.
